What You Need First

Please note that you must be in an Optus 3G/HSPA or GSM coverage area to be able to use Optus SecureCam. See www.optus.com.au/coverage for details.

- View live and archived video via your mobile phone or PC.
- View multiple camera angles on a single screen.
- Control the security camera remotely via your mobile phone or PC.
- Receive an email or a text message letting you know a recording has occurred. This recording is triggered by your camera detecting motion, so your Optus SecureCam camera records what it sees for the next 30 seconds.
- View both your private camera footage and public web cams for example surf or weather cams.
Step 1 – Purchase your camera/s and applications by calling 1300 302 173 or visit one of our stores
Step 2 – Take your camera/s to your home and/or office and follow the steps to get the application on your handset
Step 3 – Create your account through Optus Zoo and follow the steps to get the application on your handset.
Step 4 – You are now ready to view live video streaming on your mobile or PC

1. If you elect to purchase a camera(s) with monthly repayments over 12 months, you will also need to select a voice and data plan from Optus on a 12 month contract. Minimum total cost over 12 months for Optus Small & Medium Business customers is $1,043.28 with 1GB Smart Data Bolt On ($19.99 per month), Optus SecureCam service fee for one subscriber ($7.95 per month), one Optus SecureCam camera ($30 per month) and Optus Mobile (‘yes’ Business Smart 29 Plan) Call costs additional. Cost may vary depending on the plan and number of products chosen.
2. If you elect to purchase a camera(s) with monthly repayments over 24 months, you will also need to select a voice and data plan from Optus on a 24 month contract. The Optus SecureCam service is only available for use within the Optus GSM or 3G/HSPA coverage areas and is subject to network availability. Refer to www.optus.com.au/coverage for details. Customers must have an approved 3G handset that is compatible with the Optus SecureCam service.
3G network speeds both upload and download may vary dependent on the type of device in use, location and the number of users accessing the network at any given time. Speeds refer to maximum download speeds. Upload speeds will be lower than download speeds.
A $7.95 charge for access to the Optus SecureCam mobile application applies per mobile “subscriber” per month. You can cancel your monthly access at any time (excluding hardware repayments), however any remaining monthly credit will be forfeited. Video streaming via this application incurs mobile data usage in accordance with your chosen plan. Optus Small & Medium Business customers are recommended to use the $19.99 SmartData Bolt On 1GB plan on a 24 month contract. Default charges apply to Optus Small & Medium Business customers of 1.5c/kb, capped at $9.90 for 5MB and then 0.3c/kb thereafter, if you do not select a Smart Data Bolt On plan. The first ten SMS notifications per month per handset received via SMS per subscriber will be free of charge, thereafter they will be charged at 25c per SMS. Each notification will automatically trigger a recording of approximately 30 seconds of video.
A maximum of 100MB of video can be stored on the Optus SecureCam server. It is advised that if you require more than 100MB you transfer and store these files on your computer.
If you elect to purchase camera(s) with monthly repayments over 12 or 24 months, you will also need to select a voice and data plan from Optus on a 12 or 24 month contract respectively. A maximum of 3 cameras can be connected per mobile service.
A Broadband connection with compatible wireless router is required so that camera(s) can connect to the server.
All subscribers to Optus SecureCam must comply with all relevant State and Territory video and surveillance laws in relation to their use of Optus SecureCam. It is your responsibility to ensure you use Optus SecureCam legally.
Your application is subject to an Optus credit assessment, and acceptance. Only available to eligible Optus Residential and Small & Medium Business customers as defined by Optus connecting to the Optus Digital Mobile service. Optus Pre-Paid, MobileSat, service provider customers, or Corporate customers are not eligible. Not available in conjunction with single-bill or e-bill products.
Use of the Optus GSM or 3G/HSPA Service, including Video Calling is only available with compatible handsets within GSM or 3G/HSPA Coverage area. If you or the other person on the video call moves out of the GSM or 3G/HSPA coverage area, your video call will drop out and you will only have the option to call the person back with a voice call.
Optus’ 3G network coverage is available in selected areas of Sydney, Melbourne, Geelong, Canberra, Brisbane and Gold Coast, central Adelaide and central Perth. For coverage details, including HSPA coverage, see www.optus.com.au/coverage.
If you decide to cancel your voice and/or data service with Optus you may be required to pay Optus a cancellation fee plus any outstanding hardware charges including charges in relation to Optus SecureCam camera(s).

Your data allowance does not include services such as Voice calls, Voice Mail, International SMS, premium and Third Party SMS, MMS, Optus Zoo subscription content and Third Party content and applications, International MMS, 1300, 1900. If you are able to access such services, your use of such services will be charged at prevailing rates. Data usage will be counted in kilobytes, where 1024kb = 1MB and includes both uploads and downloads.
SmartData Bolt On 1GB: ($19.99 per month) includes 1GB of data. Excess usage charged at an additional $0.15 per MB or part thereof. If you take a Contracted SmartData Bolt On plan, usage of other services will be charged at your agreed rates. International data roaming usage is specifically excluded from the usage allowance of the Smart Data Bolt On plans. If you select a SmartData bolt on, you will not able to view your monthly usage prior to receiving your bill. The minimum total cost for the SmartData Bolt On 1GB for 12 months is $239.88 and SmartData Bolt On 1GB for 24 months is $479.76. If you, before the end of your contract period, cancel your service or change to a mobile plan without a SmartData Bolt On 1GB, a charge of $75 for 12 and 24 month customers will be applied to your account. Refer to the SmartData Bolt On Brochure for full terms and conditions.
Optus ‘yes’ Business Smart 29 plan: requires 12-month or 24-month connection with minimum monthly spend of $29. Minimum total cost over 12 months is $348 or over 24 months is $696. If connection is not maintained for the full length of the contract (12 or 24 months), early cancellation fees are payable.
